A space for the debate, discovery and dissent that is essential for progress.
We believe people at the fringes build the future. Ideas that seem unorthodox, or even frightening now, are often vindicated in posterity. In order for humanity to progress, we need a space for people to discuss these ideas openly.
We host intimate dinners and events where people come together to:
- Explore the ideas and technologies shaping our future.
- Delve into and debate the controversial.
- Have fun with other exceptional people.
Who We Are
- We believe that great discoveries occur at the intersection of disciplines. Everything is a remix. That’s why we bring together exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- We believe in progress. We’re inspired by Patrick Collison and Tyler Cowen’s call for a new science of progress. We want to create the circumstances that accelerate it.
- We believe in debate and dissent. Many things that seem obvious today were considered heresy in days gone by. Progress demands engagement with new - sometimes scary - ideas.
Our goal is to support our members to solve the problems that drive progress.
What We Do
We’re focused on doing three things really well:
- Dinners - We curate stellar guest lists, united by a theme, question or complex/timely issue, and bring them together for an evening of discussion and debate in an intimate setting. We think of these as the dinners you’ve always wanted to organise, but don’t have the time to.
- Themes: Metaverse, Network Effects, Artificial Intelligence
- Questions: How can we use investing to tackle climate change?
- Timely Issue: Womb for Improvement: Synthetic Wombs Won’t Save the World, Women Will.
- We love co-hosting, so if you have an idea for a dinner you want to co-host, get in touch.
- Salons - We organise gatherings hosted by someone with a unique perspective, and delve into a theme, question or debate.
- e.g. Superforecasting, How do we fix scientific research?
